"Waste of Time"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

I was forced to attend the A&E and detained there under duress against my will for several hours despite my protestations. Valuable resources at the hospital and other services were unnecessarily allotted to me that could and should have been allocated to others who actually needed and wanted your valuable assistance. I however did not seek, want or need anything from your organisation.

We are very sorry to learn of your experience when attending the Emergency Department and wish to assure you that staff in the Emergency Department are unable to detain patients unless there is a clear and appropriate need to do so. As your posting is anonymous we are unable to comment further on your particular experience. Matron McNab in the Department would be very willing to discuss your experience should you wish to contact her in person on 0191 2336161.
