About: Barnet Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Went to Barnet on two occasions.

1st - A+E, very quick was waiting less than 30 mins! Quite effiecient, no probs experienced.

2nd - X-ray, again didn't have to wait longer then 30 mins, bit cold in my gown though! :)

What could be improved

The doctor in A+E didn't seem to completely know what they was talking about + to be honest I couldn't really understand them! They kept dropping the equpiment on the floor, and some of it didn't actuly work.

The radiologist who did my X-ray had a student with then, they were very nice and polite, very helpful (as much as they could be!). The X-ray was of my back and radiographer was very rough with me, pushing me into the right position, when they could of just asked me to move! Also throughout the X-ray I couldn't tell if they was speaking to me or the student.. Very confusing!! Then after my X-ray I asked to see them but was told I couldn't (although I do understand why) only to have someone behind the screen in the same room to shout "oh look, scoliosis"

Anything else?

As a student nurse myself I know that you can't make everyone happy, but having a doctor that drops all the equipment doesn't exaclty install you with confidence, although they did do a good job in the end. Also I think maybe the radiologists could do with some kind of moving and handling training or something as I don't take too kindly to being man handled when I can move perfectly well myself!

I don't think this is a bad hospital, but there's always things that can be done to improve.
