"Negative impressions on A and E reception."

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital

My wife has been admitted to the hospital previously as an in patient and received nothing but the best care available but our emergency trip on Saturday lunchtime left a lot to desired. Unfortunately she suffered an angina attack in town and we had mislaid the gnt spray she carries with her at all times. As the pain was not easing I drove her to A&E. Outside I asked an ambulanceman for a spray which he lent me and she was able to take, but as it had been some time since the pain had started and had still not ceased he suggested we booked in to get her checked over. I took her in a wheelchair from the main door and attempted to book her in explaining what was happening and as we had given back the spray , we would benefit from another shot and hopefully be prescribed one to see us safely home to Skegness. This was met by " I am dealing with this ambulance man and will be with you shortly". The administrator eventually decided she would take our details with no urgency whatsoever. She could clearly see my wife was holding her chest in pain and needed some sort of immediate attention as it was related to the heart and breathing difficulties, but she said take a seat and someone will see you soon. 15-20 minutes passed by and the administrator put on her coat and left and not a single person came to see if she was alright or needed treatment. I realise that it is a busy department but I was disappointed and somewhat concerned that a problem such as this was not taken seriously enough to warrant some sort of help. The pain did subside as it happens and I politely spoke to another member of staff and told her we would leaving to head home .
