"Good but could be better"

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

The ambulance staff were brilliant who took me to the hospital. The reason for being taken to hospital in the first place was a back injury, which had left me in agonising pain down the whole of my left leg in the middle of the night. I was literally screaming in pain and the gas and air given by the amblulance crew didn't touch it. The shock of the pain was also causing me to dehydrate. So I was a little surprised that I was left for 2 hours without any pain medication in A&E and it was only when my husband went and found a nurse, did someone appear and administer some strong drugs. My own nurse had been called away to a ward it turned out. After 4 hours I was discharged at 8am. This would have been all well and good, but the reason I was in there in the first place was that I couldn't move, let alone walk. We were left to find our own wheelchair and my husband to push me out in the rain to the car park. I am not criticising the staff. They were busy and clearly cuts are biting, but there needs to be more care taken over patients. I know that means more money pumped in, but if you are like me, have never gone to A&E before, have never needed an ambulance, you do come away feeling that the system really is struggling a little. I know it could have been much worse though.
