"On arrival the night staff seemed ..."

About: Watford General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

On arrival the night staff seemed friendly but we all had trouble understanding what the staff were saying due to strong accents!

What could be improved

Just TELL your patient what you are doing and WHY. And be clear and concise.

Anything else?

Every one admitted to hospital for what ever reason has feelings and so does the family that visit that patient. It is very hard to visit a loved one and see them in pain and they have no idea what treatment they are going to receive for it because no one has told them. It frustrates the family and makes the patient anxious, which can’t be good for their recovery. It also is very very frustrating when the majority of the staff’s first language isn’t English and it is hard to understand what they are saying!
