"Fracture Clinic following visit to A&E"

I was referred to the Fracture Clinic by the A&E following an upper-arm fracture, while on holiday from overseas. I found the Clinic staff very efficient and kind. My first appointment was a little difficult due to my inability to understand the accent of the attending orthopaedic consultant. When I asked for a prescription for more medication, he told me to go to my GP. When I pointed out I didn't have a doctor in the UK as I do not live here, he then just told me I didn't need any more of that particular medication. Clearly there isn't a procedure to deal with this type of situation, or if there is, he did not know about it. My second visit was much better and I was lucky enough to get another doctor who was fantastic. He allowed me to ask questions, allowed me to view the x-rays, gave me plenty of information, and gave me a sheet showing exercises to be undertaken. I was very impressed with him. All-in-all I was very satisfied with my two visits to the Fracture Clinic. The reception staff, medical staff, nursing staff, and x-ray staff were all very nice and very efficient. Considerinfg the number of patients who must pass through the Clinic per year, I was pleasantly surprised by its efficiency. Thank you for looking after me.
