"Acute illness of a disorientated elderly person"

89 year old female taken to Urgent Care Centre last week. Seen by the doctor who demonstrated a complete lack of respect and dignity towards this elderly patient. Failed to diagnose hypothermia because apparently the thermometer "doesn't give an accurate reading." Was happy to let the patient sit unattended in the waiting room whilst discussing with the carer the far more important issue of where the patient's medical registration was. The highlight of this episode was when the doctor chose to take a personal phone call during the consultation. I am myself a healthcare professional and, to my mind, it goes without saying that such standards should be completely unacceptable, and yet, evidently, are allowed to continue.
