"Day Surgery"

About: Northern General Hospital

I was referred to the NGH by my GP on 18th Nov, by 18th Feb I had, had my hernia repair op in the Bev Stokes Day surgery unit. I feel very satisfied with the whole process. All the staff were excellent. The only things I would change would be : 1. Discharge could have done in private in case I had any 'delicate/private' questions, rather than in the waiting area. 2. Instructions on pain relief, changing dressing etc in writing, because having just come around I found I wasn't actually taking things in. 3. Finally it would have been nice for the surgeon, or even his assistant, to just tell me how the op had gone. But overall a good experience

Dear Kevin Fish Thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughts on your recent surgery at the Bev Stokes Day Unit at the Northern General Hospital. I will ensure these are passed onto the staff involved and hope you continue to make a good recovery.
