"Pain management (sacral illiac joint) "

After x-rays, physiotherapy, an MRI scan and various drug treatments (with unpleasant side-effects), I changed GP services after it was effectively suggested that there is nothing wrong with me and that my pain is psychosomatic. I was frustrated on a number of counts with their approach, it felt half-hearted or disinterested.

My new GP referred me to a hospital pain management clinic. The consultant was just superb, the relief of being immediately told that there were obvious things that could be causing my pain and being prescribed better (but more expensive) drugs was immense. I had 2 diagnositic pain relief injections 5 months ago, the second of which worked. When the effects started to wear off I was able to get a quick appointment to see the consultant again and am expecting another injection in a few weeks. A course of treatment was also explained if that doesn't work.

It's hard to express enough the positive impact on my quality of life from finally getting to see the right person and having effective treatment.
