Thanks for your feedback. Some years ago, the Trust surveyed users of blue badge bays and they told us the following - they wanted to have a good chance of finding a space to use quickly; they wanted to be able to have access to a hospital wheelchair to use, if they did not have one with them; they wanted to be able to access the main hospital easily; and they wanted help to be on hand. Like all other car park users, they also wanted to pay for the time they used and not have to guess who long they would be for a pay and display system. Our new multi-storey car park at the Lister delivers on each of those requests and whilst we do make a charge for using the car park, those on specific benefits covered by the national healthcare travel costs scheme can claim both the cost of parking and their journey to/from the hospital back from the NHS on the same day.
