"Superb treatment"

I underwent prostate surgery at Airedale Hospital and was an in-patient there for 3 nights. This was my first experience as a hospital in-patient and, having heard comments on crises within the NHS, I was a bit apprehensive. I trained as a general nurse many years ago and then moved to social work for most of my working life, finishing up inspecting Residential and Nursing Homes in the region so I had some insight into health care issues. I need not have worried! The level of medical and nursing care was very good indeed. There was a clear emphasis on teamwork and confidence on Ward 20 and in the theatre which did much to allay any concerns. The bed was comfortable, the ward was kept exceptionally clean and the food was fine. The initial out-patient appointments and the follow up clinics worked efficiently and, more or less, to their timetable. Treatment at Airedale Hospital was a very satisfying experience.
