"First Class treatment all the way at Devon and Exeter (Wonford) Hospital"

Since 2003 I have been attending the Maxillofacial Clinic at Devon & Exeter Wonford)Hospital. I had to have Orthodontic treatment for 18 months which then lead to facial/jaw surgery. The treatment from day one was exceptional. My Orthondontist Doctor Moore and his team have been wonderful, absolutely first class, my appointments were usually on time and if they werent they apologised for keeping me waiting. They were caring and very kind in what was a traumatic time for me, talking me through every stage and procedure. My Maxillofacial Consultant, Mr McLennan and his team were fantastic. Their professionalism was second to none and again taking me through every procedure step by step with incredible patience. And when it was time for my Surgery, both teams worked together,ensuring that I was kept informed and was comfortable with what was happening. On the day of the surgery, the Anaesthatist went through my concerns with me, (she really listened to how worried I was and took it all on board), and when I went into the operating theatre, I was totally calm and had complete confidence in every single person in that theatre. After surgery I wasn't well at all, it was only sickness due to the anasthetic but try being sick when youve had jaw surgery! (Its not pleasant). But again the Nursing staff were amazing and so caring. I kept one particular Nurse running around alot of that night and she was so very kind.

I couldnt eat anything but the catering staff ensured that I had plenty to drink and lots of vitamin drinks too.

My post surgery appointments were regular and I was never kept waiting long.

I am now down to one or two visits a year to ensure everything is going well.
