"gastrocopy procedure"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

The visit experience was first class all the way, the main area receptionist smiled and gave easy instructions on how to find the unit, the receptionist there was very welcoming and all my details were quickly confirmed and the waiting area atmosphere was comfortable and quiet and soon people were talking to each other! After a semi sleepless night this had a very calming effect. Initially taken to a private room for blood pressure check and briefing about the procedure and choices I could make: throat spray anaesthetic or sedation. I am not good at dentists and really thought that sedation was for me, but talking to the nurses and consultant reassured me that the throat spray was worth a try. Needn't have worried, following instructions carefully, the procedure was problem free and over very quickly leaving me with no affects other than a windy tummy. The findings were talked over with me as was the treatment I would need. The result of the biopsy would be available within half an hour. Collected my surprised wife mid way through her coffee at the main waiting area and returned to the Endoscopy unit were the final results were discussed and advice given. The Department has won awards for setting excellent standards of service and care and it is very evident. Thanks to all, a first class experience, must have trained with Virgin Atlantic.
