"Cancer treatment at Keyworth Medical Centre"

About: Nottinghamshire County Teaching PCT / Keyworth surgical dermatology service

(as the patient),

My sister (aged 48) had died with malignant melanoma the day before I discovered a little unusual lump on my leg. I went straight to the Doctor in an extremely upset and agitated condition, because this was exactly how my sister's melanoma had presented 6 months previously. We both attended the same GP practice but my care was prompt and efficient and I was immediately referred to the Dermatology Clinic at the Keyworth Medical Centre. I cannot speak highly enough of the attention I received there from Dr Schroff. This is in direct contrast to the lack of care my sister received only months earlier whereby she was not referred on to any specialist for months and when she was eventually diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and all hope had gone. As a family, including her husband and two teenage sons, we feel terribly let down by the lack of care she received resulting in the loss of her life at such a young age. Fortunately my lump was removed, tested and found to be harmless. I wish she had received such good care as I have.
