"waiting times sunderland eye infirmary"

i had my assesment with dr in november ,or op jan 3 but have been told it could be 6 months before my op surely my mrsa etc will be invalid then,my legs were measured for stockings etc whos to say im going to be the same 6 months down the line ,i have floaters in my eye and require surgery ,i am self employed child minder and have 8 families who rely on me and secretary said i will get a phone call on a monday for surgery that week or following week ,i dont know how im supposed to help my families find alternate childcare in 2 days notice and i will be required to be off work for 2 weeks.apparently no appts can be given for operations for more than a week in advance, i also thought there was an 18 week cut off
