"Good experience at NHS Lothian Community Dental Service"

About: NHS Lothian

(as a parent/guardian),

Took my son who has a severe Learning Disability twice now for planned root canal treatment following a fall that damaged his tooth.

He was treated twice at a sedation clinic and was in the surgery for around hour each time. His level of understanding is not good and he can be very complex to manage under stressful circumstances.

The standard of care and treatment he received was outstanding, delivered in a calm supportive and highly professional manner, from the reception staff to the doctors, dentists and nurses he was looked well after and treated as a person as well as a patient. He went home with a fixed tooth and equally as important an experience that will not put him of returning should he require to.

Well done to all and many thanks.

Dear Angelman,

Thank you very much for contacting us with feedback on your son’s visit to the Community Dental Service.

The treatment and care of patients is our top priority and I am pleased to see that was the case for your son. Root canal is never a pleasant experience but it is nice to see that your son was treated well.

Feedback like yours is vital to the NHS to let us know how we are doing and I will be passing your comments to the team and management responsible for your son’s care.
