About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

I am severely disabled and presented a real challenge when I attended this department. But you would not have noticed. I was treat with dignity at all times. And my wife was allowed to stay with me. The staff were all amazing from care assistants, nurses to the doctor. The unit was clean and welcoming. The only drawback to the visit is the hospital site. Parking facilities for the disabled are dire. It is a very large hospital and there are very few disabled parking spaces. I attended a small community hospital the next day and there were three times as many spaces.

Thank you for your feedback. I will ensure that a copy of your comments are passed through to the department who cared for you. With regards to disabled parking, the guidelines for the provision of disabled parking is 6% of the total number of parking spaces, the Trust provides 11.87% disabled parking spaces. Short stay, drop off and disabled spaces are located at all entrances of the hospital and aside from the new multi storey car park, patient car parks are also located adjacent to the Emergency, Cardiac and Outpatients Departments. Best Wishes Andrea
