My mum was treated at the Medway Maritime in November. She had fractured her hip in a fall and I am writing to say that she and the family were delighted with the care and attention she received from all departments. The ambulance staff were efficient and explained clearly what they were doing and ensured she was comfortable and secure in what was a frantically busy A&E on that evening. She was operated on speedily to replace the hip joint, consulted and informed by surgeon and anaesthetist and then given respectful and kindly care in Arethusa ward. The Rapid Response team liaised with mum about her return home and were able to help with nursing home care once she left hospital but was unable to manage at home. The team also helped with rail and step adaptations when mum was ready to come home. She has been provided with loan equipment (sticks, trolley, stool) to enable a speedy recovery in her own home. We would like to thank everyone involved for making her treatment and recovery so "joined up". Thanks again.
