My care at the hands of the same day admissions ward was far from desirable. Decompression of my shoulder was required and after arriving at 7.00 my surgery finally happened at 15.30. All that time in a room with no windows, TV, phone or internet access was more painful than my shoulder!

Dear Jeannie, Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and for highlighting your concerns. The surgical care clinicians and teams have been aware of what you have described and are tasked with urgently trying to improve both experiences of waiting and the length of time waiting. This is so that, in future, patients who go through the same procedure will have both something useful to occupy them during the wait and, this wait should not be so long. I'm sorry you have had to experience this, however I do want to thank you for highlighting your difficulties as this will enable us to make precise improvements for patients who use the same service in future.
