My dad is currently in Alnwick hospital In Ward 1 and has been for the last 2 weeks. Prior to this my dad was in Wansbeck where he had a terrible time and in my opinion was shown no awareness of any dignity or respect. My goodness what a difference this hospital is to our experience at Wansbeck. All of the staff including the consultant are very approachable, caring and treat the patients with the uttermost respect. The nurses do their job like its a vocation and are very caring and responsive to the needs of the patients. The patients are assisted to be washed everyday and changed and the food is of good quality and varied choice. My dad has vascular dementia and everyone takes time to answer his questions and stay a while to talk to him if he has any concerns. We are also consulted and involved as to what is going with my dads care and plans for his release. I really can't praise the staff enough, they work very hard to create a nice environment for the patients.
"Can't praise this hospital enough"
