"Day case for sholder op the best treatment ever..."

About: Torbay Hospital

I arrived on time at the wrong place (my fault as I asummed ) staff at wrong clinic very helpful and phoned my clinic told them I was on my way my addmission was very smooth and through seeing my consultant, phsio, nurse ect ect all very reasureing careing kindness that can't be priced in money I had a little wait as the morning list was running late however this was explained to me and I was shown to a waiting room with a T V and mag's very pleasant a short read of my newspaper and I was given some tablets and told it would'nt be long now I was shortly walked to the theatre all was explained by the team there very clearly all intrduced themselves with first names and made me feel very at ease i also noted although it is a very clinical area I was so at ease with my treatment I did not suffer my usual distaste for the smell of a theatre I fell asleep with out any knowledge of any injecttion being carried out on me so gentle was the fitting of the tap in the back of my hand I woke up feeling very well in bed at the first clinic I visited three nurse's where looking afer the four men in the ward it was most pleasant I was checked to ensure I was warm enough and comfortable given food and drink (fact I was given 3 coffee's and offered more food) belly filled I had a little snooze I not sure how long I slept but woke only two other men I had my dressing's changed chatted with nurse cleaning down an empty bed and it was time for to leave the following morning I have recived two care call from unit nurse and one from phiso . I have not always been pleased with the care and treatment I have recived at Torbay in fact I feel I have been a victim of poor care here in the passed and voiced my discontent on this site However this treatment has been without fault right the way through O P D on the day pre op and post op I felt the care I was shown genuine care from a person rather than someone performing a paid task

Dear Mr Dooley Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. It is always good to receive feedback; we try to ensure we share examples of good practice and also that we learn from any negative experiences. Your kind comments will be shared with our staff.
