"waste of time visiting A&E"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

I visited A&E a week ago as a result of a nasty fall from flight of stairs on my back. The waiting time time was 2 hours, i was in a lot of pain and nasty bruises. after i was seen by a doctor, i had an xray , and scan, blood test and urine test. I was told that there was a debate about wether my hip bone was fractured. I was seen by an orthopedic doctor, after physical check, she did not think that i had a fracture but said that the radiographer did. I was told to go home and that she would discuss it further with a registra and would call me the next day. I had a phone call 8 oclock the next day, she said that if my pain got worse i should go backn and they will sort me out. My bruises started spreading all over my left side, my thigh and below my belly botton to even the pubic bone, and my lower back. I noticed after3 to 4 days the lower back pain was getting unbreable, on the 6th day i was very concerened, so i went back to A&E, and explained the situation and mentioned that i was told to come back if the pain gets worse. After seeing the nurse for assesment and explaining the problem, i had to waite 2 hours sitting with a lot of pain. Eventually a doctor called me totally different attituden to the doctor i had seen 6 days before. First of all i was very surprised that he did not know why i was there after having explained to the nurse of the previous visit, and the pain i was having. I told the doctor few times about the pain on the lower back as a result of the fall, and that i was told by the orthopedic doctor to go back if the pain got worse, he asked "why did she say that" i replied because there was some debate about hip fracture, but the pain has spreaded to the lower back and is quiet bad. He kept ignoring my concern for the pain, and looked at the bruises and said although it looked horrific, but it was only on the surface. I asked why it had spread to under belly botton, he replied bruises spread under the skin. He was still totally ignoring my lower back and did not even have a look, and told me that i was fine and nothing was brokenas you are walking (I was limping) and in a lot of pain, he said that i should carry on with the pain killer. I was not happy with him , but i did not say anything, i left, with a lot of pain and still am worried as i find it difficult to sit , sleep, and walking is painful. What a waste of time, sitting there. In my opinion there should be some communication among doctors specially if they ask a patient to go back, they should be allowed to look at the data and the record, when the patient go back and get some idea, rather than asking everything all over again. I dont feel that i was cared for the second time round, and the doctor did not have a proffesional attitude. I am in a lot of pain, i was not given any leaflet, relating to my injuries. I am concerend about my lower back. No advice was given.
