My first visit was in August 2013 and the consultant was absolutely brilliant! Kind, compassionate, professional. He gave me hope that I would be looked after properly, what was very important because of previous bad experience with gp. He refered me to other specialist (because of bad blood results) and for numerous tests. I could not wait to see him again and hear the outcome, diagnosis. My next visit in Dec 2013 was completly different. The consultant did not know nothing about me and did not even tried to read anything from the files/computer. He asked me what tests and other appts I had and what were the results. I told him what I knew and remembered (most results he was suppoused to explain to me as I had no insight in them). He asked me why and who referred me for the nerve root block and I told him that I wanted to ask him same questions as it must have been somebody from that clinic. I was given no answers, no explanation at all! He just asked if the proscribed meds worked and suggested to increase the dose when nesessary. I still do not know what's wrong with me, what the diagnosis. Because of that I wasted my time as well as hospital's money and staff time today when I attended radiology clinic. The reasons for my nerve root block were unclear, so after 20 min of getting ready for prosedure the doctor cancelled it. I went out stressed, confused, feelling guilty (althought there was no fault on my side) and like complete idiot. I must admit that the Radiology clinic staff was supporting and excellent. So, I do not know what to do next, I will write PILS and see what happens. Hope no one ever will experience this kind of (mis)treatment.
"First visit-great, second-devastating!"
