"booking an ongoing appointment in rheumatology by..."

About: St Albans City Hospital

i received a letter to book an appointment at rheumatology in St Albans. I rang the no given to me. it rang and rang. no answer. this went on for two days. in the end i went to the hospital to physically book it. the lady at appointments seemed very distressed. she told me to ring the no on my letter. after i explained she went and spoke to her manager who apparently said "what do you want me to do about it". she explained that Watford, Hemel and st Albans appointments were now answered in ST t Albans and that there is only one person / sometimes two on duty. i was lucky to be able to go and get my appnt. but what about the elderly, disabled and infirm. another example of its not broken - so lets break it attitude by NHS and their managers. i would be grteful if you could highlight my concerns as i will be with MP Mike Penning. thank you.
