"Appalling attitudes from consultants."

About: Lincoln County Hospital

Waiting times for my appointments with the department are unacceptable. I did not receive an appointment until 18 weeks after presenting at A&E, during which time I completely lost bladder function. Two supra-pubic procedures have worsened my situation. Time between my last procedure and next appointment is 18 weeks and 2 days. I don't see the same consultant and have found their arrogance frustrating. I will be making an official complaint because the lack of suitable care has led to permanent loss of my bladder function at the age of fifty. The entire situation could have been avoided by expedited treatment. Appalling.

I was so sorry to hear of your poor experience and the length of waits you have had following your A&E attendance. I understand how distressing this must be for you and also how angry this must make you feel.

I have spoken to the team in urology and will also be raising the comments around the teams attitude at the next specialty meeting as this is unacceptable.

We are also undertaking some significant work to reduce the waiting times in all areas, so I hope in the future, such delays will not be experienced.
