Last week a friend of mine parked in the pay and display car park of what was previously called Newcastle General hospital for under 1 hour and had a ticket displayed on the dash, valid for an hour.
On return to the car no problem no parking notice!
In the past week they have thrown the ticket away, why would they keep it?
Today they have received a parking eye charge notice with pictures of the car entering and leaving the car park at times that are not disputed but the driver doesn't have the ticket as proof!
On investigation it appears that the machines require a car reg before issuing a ticket - the driver was not aware of this so the signs must be woefully inadequate. Also the machine DID issue a ticket - is it possible that someone (a child maybe) had pressed some buttons which caused the machine to allow printing?
Absolute shambles.
