"No wonder the waiting list is so long! Problems with dermatology in Wishaw"

I went to my local GP about a mole on my arm. I was concerned about it because it was bleeding and had risen.

The GP said he would refer me to Wishaw General to have the mole removed.

It took 8 months for my appointment, I was expecting a wait so that was fine, but when I went to the hospital, the Doctor examined my mole and told me that she would refer me to have it removed?! I explained to her that I was under the impression that I was to have to the mole removed today, and she told me no, I would have to be referred again and that I would have to wait another 6 to 8 months.

I am really annoyed at this, this was a complete waste of my time, the Doctor told me exactly what my local GP had told me 8 months previous. This is a complete waste of NHS money, why have a Doctor sitting telling people what their local GP has already told them? Not to mention I had to take a day off work and will now have to take another one when my appointment eventually comes through!
