I was diagnosed with cancer on my kidney transplant after having an Ultrasound scan whilst in the Bradford Royal Infirmary in April 2013, the doctor just told me "it looks like cancer", and I felt a bit shocked at the way in which the news had been given me, however, the care from the nurses and doctors that followed was absolutely amazing.
Following a couple of kidney biopsies, the diagnosis was confirmed that it was cancer, I was given the choice of either having evasive surgery at Bradford Royal Infirmary, or Radio Frequency Ablation (R. F. A. ) at St James hospital in Leeds, my wife and I chose the latter, R. F. A.
we were referred to an incredible lady doctor, Dr Tze Min Wah, we can't speak highly enough of this lady doctor who performed the procedure in September 2013, Dr Wah was so gentle in the way she received us which made us feel so at ease, Dr Wah explained in great detail where the cancer was on the kidney, using MRI diagrams, she answered every question we asked with total honesty, another incredible lady, Dr Wah’s secretary Janette Bambrook, has been a constant help and encouragement to us throughout, it is so comforting when told that the team is only a phone call away.
The aftercare on ward 97 was also incredible, one cannot help but have great admiration for the nursing staff, their care and devotion is second to none, the cleanliness of the whole ward is spotless. I thank God for doctors and nurses. I was discharged in January 2014 with a review MRI scan in six months we were given the choice whether to return to our local Bradford hospital, or remain under the care of St. James oncology unit, we chose St. James without hesitation.
We thank you all so much from the bottom of our heart for the care shown us over the last six months.
