"Rheumatology appointment"

About: Lister Hospital

After waiting 3 months for appointment, the consultant was busy so I saw registrar, he showed no empathy or helpfulness at all. Each time I told him something he looked disinterested. He actually felt my joints for swelling and inflammation over winter coat! I asked if I should remove my coat and was told no! Having had a problem with my foot for a year I asked if it was possible to have a scan as x-ray showed degeneration and he said no as probably just wear and tear. My previous consultant had suggested a scan as well as NHS chiropodist as sometimes it is difficult to walk and sleep because of the pain. I have fallen twice recently when getting out of bed because of the pain. I asked what happens if it gets really bad again and suggested seeing my GP as it probably isn't related to my arthritis! I feel very let down and frustrated by this appointment, I took flare up pictures with me but registrar wasn't interested in seeing them.

We're very disappointed that your recent outpatients experience was not as good as we would have liked or expected - if you are happy to contact us via generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net, we will happily follow it up for you.
