About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I attended the hospital for the antenatal care and birth of my second child and at all times found the staff friendly, effiicent, caring and professional, at times going out of their way to provide help and advice. The departments and wards were always found to be clean and particular mention should go to the staff who refused entry to the labour ward until they had seen us clean our hands with the gel provided. All in all I have since recommended this hospital to all expectant mothers I know and would not hesitate to use it again. I have no experience of the A&E dept but am convinced that any problems experienced are the result of funding and staffing shortages rather than wilful negligence from existing staff.

Anything else?

my heartfelt thanks are sent to my midwife at delivery for keeping me sane and for her encouragement and positivity which resulted in me having the birth I wanted and to student midwife for being the lovely person she is.
