I was admitted to Ward 7 @ Wansbeck post operatively on the 13th January following a PILF (posterior Intavertebral lumbar fusion) & absolutely just can't praise the staff on the ward enough. The ward is kept painlessly clean and patients, are nursed in same sex bays. Nursing Care is exemplary with all aspects of dignity being observed. Pain control was offered regularly (pretty important) with alternatives being discussed as and when necessary. Despite being busy, nothing was too much trouble to anyone on the ward with the ward kitchen staff even remembering what I wanted for breakfast. The staff work very hard under what can at times be difficult and challenging situations but you were never made to feel like a nuisance for asking for anything. The Staff Nurse stayed on half an hour or more today to ensure I got my discharge meds today and was happy with everything I had been given. I honestly cannot praise this ward enough tho it's extremely nice to be home. My love and respect goes to everyone on Ward 7 & also to the Physio team for getting me up & down the stairs safely !!
