"I learned about CBT techniques and that practice is key"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

I attended stage 1, then stage 2 of CBT.

I didn't find stage 1 that helpful for my needs, but stage 2 was very helpful.

I learned about CBT techniques and that practice is key. It isn't magic, it doesn't change overnight but with practice, things can change a lot.

My therapist was attentive, never judgemental and helped me to understand the key to my problem.

The whole process was extremely beneficial.

I attended evening appointments which were helpful to me as I wanted to continue going to work and not take some time out on a regular basis.

Dear Lamb195

Thank you for these comments and I'm very glad that you found the CBT helpful and at a time that's suited you.

You mentioned that it does need practice and you are absolutely right; people tend to find that they get the most out of it if they put a lot into it themselves. You've certainly done that and so deserve the changes it has made for you.

I wish you all the every best for the future.

Kind regards

Heather
