"Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU)"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

My elderly Aunt was admitted to EAU in a very weak and distressed state. I live in the North of England and was extremely worried. I travelled down the next day and found her in an individual room being closely monitored. Although EAU was running at a frantic pace staff at all levels (admin, health care assistants, nursing and medical staff) found time to be kind and friendly. A member of the nursing team spoke to me, with my relative's permission, and updated me promptly when I asked for this to happen. The professionalism, commitment and compassion of everyone I saw at work, and the people who I spoke to, was obvious. I was both impressed and grateful. Thank you to all concerned!

Thank you for your feedback following your aunt's time in the John Radcliffe. We are pleased to hear your relative received the standard of care the staff at OUH Trust strives for, and wish your aunt a speedy recovery. We appreciate hearing from patients and their relatives, and your comments will be passed onto the related team.
