"could not be happy with the care recieved"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

A lot of the time only negative reviews are mostly written so I thought that the positive experience I had should be recognised too. I attended the RVI last night for an appointment with an out of hours doctor after the appointment was arranged by NHS 24. The appointment was for my four month old daughter who had suffered with a reaction to her immunisations. We didn't have to wait long to be seen and the doctor we had was one of the most loveliest kindest people we have had the pleasure to meet. She was very understanding of our concerns, my perhaps overeating manner due to me being a first time manner. She spoke so calming to us made us feel that our concerns were important with regard to our baby. She examined our baby and was very gentle and comforting towards her along with two young medical students that politely joined us in the room After the examination we had a thorough explaination and were told we would need to see a paediatric doctor. We were given a letter to take round to A and E reception and again the staff on reception were very kind and attentive and immediately processed the details and admitted my daughter. We were then with in 10 minutes sent to the children's A and E and again were seen immediately by a nurse who checked our daughter over. We were given a room with our daughter whilst we waited for the doctor to arrive and given lots of support and advice whilst we waited. We then saw a paediatric nurse who again was lovely with us and our baby very reassuring which is what we needed at the time. And she kept us updated with what would most likely happen and how long the doctor would most likely be. When we saw the doctor he couldn't of been more supportive and kind.. including us in all decisions with regards to our babies care needs which in turn made me feel so much more reassured. We finally returned home at 1.30am and was given the wards number to phone if we had any concerns or to bring baby straight back if we were worried. I myself have had some bad experiences with staff whilst being in hospital on occasions but my faith was well and truly restored not only with the care received last night but also the day my daughter was born.. I could not of asked for nicer staff and I wanted to thank you all for your kindness and care and support given to us during these times.

Thank you for taking the time to post these very positive comments on NHS Choices. We are very pleased to learn of your very positive experience in the Children’s emergency department and that you are happy with the care and support given to your daughter and your good self. We hope that your daughter has recovered fully and wish you both well for the future. Thank you once again for your kind remarks.
