I can not praise the NGH enough especially the ENT doctors. I was put onto the 2 week wait at another city hospital who caused me so much stress & anxiety over Xmas as they did not do their jobs properly, I asked to discharge myself from them & be put on to the NGH 2 week wait. I was feeling ill a few days before Xmas but I did not want to go to the other hospital even though it is closer for me as the place made me feel extremely anxious so I went to the NGH. I was seen by a ENT doctor in the A&E , who did some tests & was fantastic with me as I told him I was not sure if a lot of what I was feeling was down to anxiety with the nodule I have on my thyroid & the problems with the other hospital, he reassured me that he would look into it for me. My tests did come back that I did have a infection & some inflammation , so he would admit me whilst they ran further tests, all the time he was speaking to me , keeping me informed. I was admitted onto a ward & was greeted by 2 lovely nurses who nothing was to much trouble for them , I was seen by 2 doctors through the night who again were amazing & when I seem them in the morning I was made to feel like a person & not a number as the other hospital did, although these doctors had been on a night shift & were on there way home they found the time to inform me of what was going on & also listen to me. Since then I went on to there 2ww & was seen by a lovely consultant who actually speaks to you & has a sense of humour , this put me at ease so much through a anxious time for me. The previous hospital was requested to do a biopsy of my thyroid which they did not do within the 4 weeks I was under them , yet I go to the NGH & the consultant did it there & then on my first appointment , also they have arranged a ultrasound for me very quickly. My partner & family have told me I am seem so much more relaxed now that I am under their care & I feel it. I can not think of a bad thing to say about this hospital , it is clean with amazing staff throughout! It is a fairly long journey for me & there is few hospitals closer that I could go to but they do not come close at all in to giving the excellent treatment that I have so far received at the NGH
"Fantastic"
