"Administration over Healthcare"

About: Guy's Hospital

I took my Russian wife to this A & E at 02:07 on Sunday 12th January, 2014 suffering agonising and excruciating pain in her abdomen, that had been misdiagnosed for 5 months. Her anguish in these bouts was as distressing for me as it was painful for her. After 4 hours, she was sent home with mild painkillers.I called an ambulance and local GP visiting service over the next 26 hours to get her relief until our GP opened. The GP prescribed various tablets which were ineffective. I called the visiting doctors service, they sent a doctor who called for an ambulance. He wrote a letter 'suggesting' that my wife be hospitalised for pain management and further investigation. The hospital female doctor gave her a prescription and advised that she sit in a warm bath; she said that the problem could be resolved by outpatient care, that they would arrange a specialist examination in 2 to 4 weeks and that bringing my wife into hospital put my wife at risk of infection from the hospital.
