About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

My mother was admitted to LRI after she passed out at home. She was treated for a chest infection (which she didn't have) and discharged after 2 days. My father took her on a 5 day holiday with the consent of the hospital consultant. Upon her return home she was re-admitted and the doctors had no idea what was wrong with her. She was discharged 2 weeks later with a consultant saying she had gout. She has been admitted for the third time today with D V T. It took for her GP to make a home visit to work out what was wrong with her.

Dear Stephanie, Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. We are really sorry to hear about your mother's care. This is unacceptable and we would like to investigate your complaint further. To enable us to do so, please could you send your mother's details (name, address, date of birth and patient number) to communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and we will ensure this is dealt with by the appropriate person. Kind regards, Communications team, Leicester's Hospitals
