"Excellent care; very good outcomes"

From my initial diagnosis, which was both very quick and very thorough, through to Yeovil's follow-up to my aortic valve replacement and artery bypass in Bristol Royal Infirmary, I was extremely impressed with the treatment I had throughout. Everyone was thoughtful, prompt, helpful, kind and above all professionally highly competent in all their dealings with me. I am very impressed. I have also benefited very much from my involvement in the cardiac rehab programme. I've been a lot luckier than many, in that I've had very few follow-up complications. But the existence of the programme alone has been very useful in prompting me to think about what I need to do long term to remain healthy and fit, and the people running the programme have been very constructive and positive in helping me to get back to fitness again after my initial recovery period. At a time when the NHS seems to be under pretty constant bombardment, with specific problems repeatedly being generalised at a political level as generic failings, I have to say how impressed I have been by all my treatment over the last year, from my GP through Yeovil, Taunton and Bristol, and back to my GP again. I am most grateful to Yeovil District Hospital and to all the staff with whom I've had dealings for their excellent and professional care.
