"Dudhope in patient unit"

About: Dudhope Young People's Unit

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter spent along time in Dudhope and as a mother when she was initially placed there my heart was broken, but after seeing the care she received not only with her but us all as a family it was fantastic.

There was so much progress made with her there.

My daughter was there just over 5 years ago. She then went on to adult services and sadly this was a disaster excluding the community mental health team.

Life was a battle and sadly I lost her may 2013. I believe if people are receiving help from a place it should remain in place until the patient is in a good place but I feel this transfer from child to adult transition is not great.

Id Just like to say anyone that's involved with Dudhope it's 5 star treatment and I can't thank them enough for everything they did do for my daughter and us as a family

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback regarding your experience with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and the transition to Adult Services.

Your opinion is very valuable to us as it can help us shape and improve our future services.

We will now pass on your comments to the relevant department.

Dear Euphamia,

Thank you taking the time 2 months ago to share your feedback with us at such a difficult time for you and your family.

Firstly may I please extend my deepest sympathies following the death of your daughter in May last year. Your high praise of the Dudhope team was shared with the staff in January and although this was well received they were very concerned about the rest of your experience. NHS Tayside are working hard to ensure we use feedback to inform the quality of service we provide and changes that we need to make to improve care. If you would like to contact me at feedback.tayside@nhs.net to discuss any aspect of your experience I would welcome your contact.

Kind regards

Caroline McQuillian
