"Rib pain and cough and dizziness ."

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

What a difference . Following a fall two days before I had asked for advice from the 111 service, I attended A&E I was experiencing pain in my right ribs , especially when coughing and sneezing. I had also developed a cough and felt dizzy. The reception staff and triage were excellent, supportive and kind It was unusually quiet so my wait The doctor I saw however was of a different ilk . He was dismissive and unsympathetic. In fact he 'listened ' to my lungs through all of my winter clothes and a fleece, telling me that if it was serious I would have been in horrendous pain from the start. I just needed some reassurance is all . I was left feeling that I had wasted his time . The fact that the very same fall had caused two fractures in my wrist said to me that it was quite a knock . ( my wrist is in plaster and the previous visit was exceptional ).
