"The day of the actual operation ..."

About: Redwood Diagnostic Treatment Centre

(as the patient),

What I liked The day of the actual operation everyone very kind and giving plenty of attention. Rooms clean and food very good What could be improved? I was discharged just one and a half days after having two operations withing five hours (one breast surgery) then the other for an internal bleed.) I had a drain inserted which was agonisingly painful. I had barely walked to the bathroom when I was discharged and had trouble getting to the car park and into the car to go home. I was very weak as right up to moment of discharge there was indecision about whether I should have a transfusion. The two nights following pain was so severe that my husband called 999 who administered pain control they had to cut my clothes off \I was in too much pain to be touched. Drain failed next day and I spent afternoon in A & E at East Surrey I am now 7days post op the drain is still leaking and I have trouble finding anyone to help. This has been a dreadful experience for someone recently diagnosed with cancer and supposed to be stress free!!!!! I feel I was discharged far too soon in the circumstances, it seems as if after operation over ,the staff just want you out to make room for the next one irrespective of ones condition and actual ability to cope with pain at home . I was sent out with a box of paracetemol and altho sensitive to some drugs feel that perhaps something else could be found. Not a good experience at all.I feel they are more concerned with reaching targets that care of patient themselves which is dreadful.
