"childs blood test"

My 7 year old daughter has a thyroid problem and has recently been referred to broomfield from great ormond street. She has regular blood tests and finds these very traumatic. Today was her first visit and I had explained how frightened and upset she gets. From the minute we walked in we were made welcome and josie was completely reassured from putting on the numbing cream to the actual taking of the blood. They made her feel in control of the situation and there was even a play specialist to distract her from what was happening. As a result we had very few tears and a very relieved little girl mummy and daddy. From the first time I phoned the help I received from the receptionist was first class and the care given by all staff to josie today was excellent. Well done childrens outpatients you were amazing xx
