"My Doctor and the staff of Kings Lynn"

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (King's Lynn)

In a time of negativity regarding the NHS I am very pleased to be able to give praise where praise is due. Since moving back to the UK from Texas, I have been under the care of an ENT specialist and could not be happier with his professionalism, care & diligence and can credit him for essentially saving my hearing when the specialist I was seeing in Houston completely failed to diagnosed the problem and appeared to have perpetuated the problem by his method of treatment. Also, The speed of which I have been cared for completely contradicts what the media portrays. Every appointment and consultation has been on time or early and, without exception, every person I have come into contact with have been extremely personable, professional and caring. The doctor has, in my opinion, gone above and beyond with regards to explaining to a layman what the problem is and his prognosis as well as the reality of the potential outcomes. I thank him for his candor, professionalism (once again) and for making me feel involved in the whole diagnosis, treatment and recovery process. After having a nine hour operation, which in itself is a credit to the doctors skills as a surgeon, I would like to thank the theater staff for putting me at ease so quickly. No easy task as I started treatment for severe anxiety in April 2012 but felt no anxiety once all the staff had introduced themselves and put me at ease within minutes. Bear in mind that this is the first operation I have ever undergone in 42 years, which again underlines how professional these people are. I would also like to thank the night shift staff on the Elm Ward, who are consummate professionals and an absolute credit to the NHS. They had some particularly challenging patients the night I was there but they all cared for them with compassion and a level of professionalism that was beyond my capabilities. I feel a little ashamed that I cannot give you the names of the one male and several female members of staff but hope that this can worked out as I was there on the night of the December 12th and discharged on the morning of December 13th. Please pass on my gratitude if you do. Your catering staff also deserve credit as I was not expecting the level of quality of food I received. Amazing what quality can be achieved with such a small budget. I truly hope that the people that have been and will continue to care for me get the credit they deserve as it is due to them. I feel lucky that I am in such good hands considering I have had experience of healthcare in the USA and S.E. Asia and neither could hold a candle to your operation in Kings Lynn. You all should be proud of the vital service you provide and the importance of how well you provide it. Thank you all.
