"Home birth service"

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (King's Lynn)

I am disgusted by the way pregnant woman are being treated by QEH, I have had 2 successful home births and planned to have a third in February but I have been told that I will not be able to have my baby at home as planned due to cost cutting! This is totally disgraceful, parents should be able to choose where they want to have their baby rather than being dictated too. I have a fear of hospitals which has always caused me considerable distress when I have had to go in, this has a huge effect on my labour causing it to slow or sometimes stop completely, having had my past 2 sons at home has seen a much better, calmer, relaxed labour and birth with out any complication or interference. I can't understand how not allowing women to have the labour and birth they want benefits anyone , as surely it would cost more to have me in a hospital bed for 24hrs with possibly unnecessary medical interference eg: forceps , epidurals, etc ... food and bed space when there are others who want/ need the bed. This is an exceptionally poor decision on behalf of QEH as you are letting down all the mothers to be in your care for the relatively small savings made
