I am shocked and horrified to have received a £100 parking fine in the post following a very sensitive recent visit to the Royal Free Hospital even though I was parked within a disabled bay by A&E on the ground floor, clearly displaying the blue badge.
Over the last 10 years or so, I have unfortunately had to attend the Royal Free Hospital on numerous occasions and have never been penalised like this.
The parking charge letter shows that I was at the hospital from approx mid-night until just after 2: 30am. Disabled blue badges always allow at least 3 hours parking and my stay was thankfully within that time frame.
The supposed offence is not even outlined on the parking charge letter, the notice just talks about private land and users of the car park are bound by terms and conditions etc.
Are disabled parking bays not for the use of Disabled Blue Badge Holders?
I am very distressed by this notice! ! !
