"I felt my care was personal and kind"

I was a patient on the Surgical Ward in the Western Isles Hospital.

I appreciated the time nursing and support staff took to talk to me during my stay. Many staff introduced themselves to me by name, and I felt my care was personal and kind.

I am a senior health care professional, and sometimes we can be a demanding group of patients. Previous experience as a recipient of health care has been that staff are nervous around me. I did not have this experience on this occasion.
