I gave birth at Broomfield in early November. We went in initially to check the baby was ok as we had not been noticing much movement. Whilst in triage the staff there were amazing, very supportive and kind. The baby was stable and although we went home as the contractions were not regular enough my husband and I were both reassured. The next morning we went back to the maternity ward and we were placed in a birthing suite straight away, much to my relief. The mid wife was fantastic and I think thanks to her encouragement, guidance and suport I managed to give birth with just gas and air which is what I wanted if it were at all possible. I have to say our mid wife was superb and I cannot praise her enough. Although we have now moved out of the area I hope to return to Broomfield as other experiences from my friends in London hospitals were very different in comparison to my own. Christina Metcalfe
