"10 days unexpected stay in ward 43 neurology area..."

I found myself on this ward having a tumour removed from my spine under the expert care of the surgeon and his team. I had only had MRI days before and as it is so near Christmas found it quite a traumatic experience as I had to leave my 10 year old son who has Down's Syndrome . I had service of 100% plus from every area of care I received during my stay . The ward was run efficiently taking the separate needs and requirements of each patient into account . The nursing staff support workers catering team and cleaners worked tirelessly ensuring that I felt both reassured safe and that whatever I needed was not too much trouble . When I was eventually discharged everything was put into place to make my return home both smooth and safe providing me with all the equipment I need for bathing toile ting and transporting .
