About: Sandwell General Hospital

After a miscarry I went to Sandwell hospital. The room I was put in was dirty and had blood left on the floor and sheets. I had to wait 20mins before i could relax because they had to get someone to clean it. When I was diagnosed the doctor said they could not give me a scan because they don,t have the facilities at the hospital and sent me home. Then next day when I went to see my doctor they sent me back to Sandwell hospital saying they do have it there and I was given a scan. Would never go back again.

I am sorry to hear about the experience you received at Sandwell Hospital. We take infection control very seriously, there is a process of monitoring cleanliness across the Trust and this includes gynaecology areas. PEAT and hand hygiene audits, for example, are carried out regularly. Sandwell Hospital offers ultrasound scans in its outpatient department, out of hours this would mean a revisit. The miscommunication of this message is one that sincerely concerns me and your comments have been passed to the department to highlight this room for improvement. Toby Lewis, Chief Executive
