I underwent ultrasound scan at 9.30am and left waiting for four hours for results. After alerting staff that nobody had comeback to me, I was admitted for appendicitis and was then transferred to the scanning room from the waiting room to sit for a further 5 1/2 hours on a chair until a bed became available on a ward. Following this, I was starved for an entire 39 hours waiting for appendectomy as my surgery was cancelled and rebooked due to an emergency? Sorry but this level of service is not good enough. The surgery and post op care provided here we're first class. All staff here deserve medals working in such a difficult, busy and a challenging environment. It is obvious that the hospital resources are strained but attention to overseeing patients could result in more serious consequences one day.
